Dynamic Seaweed has a diverse portfolio of research and development projects, with a primary focus on marine biology and biotechnology

Currently, we have a collaborative partnership with HS srl, a company based in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, specializing in experimental research and development within the biotechnology field. In this capacity, our role as an external collaborator encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. Including the creation of the website https://www.alghedimare.it, pilot cultivation of some Mediterranean macroalgae and extraction of bioactive molecules with innovative methods.

Prior to this collaboration, Dynamic Seaweed worked closely with Forfoods srl, a San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy-based company specializing in wholesale trade of various food products. In this partnership, our focus remained on pilot-scale cultivation of Ulva spp. and Gracilaria spp., leveraging our expertise in marine biology. We also conducted comprehensive cost-benefit analyses pertaining to macroalgae product extraction. These include preparations for a forthcoming pilot-scale cultivation of Ulva spp. and Gracilaria spp., as well as contributing to the creation of content for the company’s website, informational materials, and promotional materials. Furthermore, we have conducted in-depth cost-benefit analyses related to the extraction of products from macroalgae.

Before these engagements, Dynamic Seaweed provided external consultancy services to South Agro srl in Bari, Italy. Our involvement centered on experimental research and development in the natural sciences and engineering fields, with a special emphasis on macroalgae-based fertilizers and the cultivation of Mediterranean species.

Dynamic Seaweed’s international presence extended to the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Denmark. Here, we conducted laboratory research aimed at enhancing growth parameters in indoor cultures of Asparagopsis taxiformis, an additive used to mitigate methane emissions in livestock.

The collaborations also extend overseas, to South America with Dynamic Seaweed and the University of Concepcion (UdeC) in Chile, we worked with supervised laboratories to evaluate the polyphenol content extracted from various European macroalgae species and assess their antibacterial properties.

Moreover, Dynamic Seaweed had the opportunity to work with ApuliaKundi srl in Bitetto, Italy. Our primary focus was on evaluating and pilot-scale cultivation of Pyropia spp., with specific attention to vitamin B12 and taurine levels.

Our collaboration with the Center of Advanced Scientific Research (CICA) at the University of Coruña in Spain, Dynamic Seaweed conducted research in both laboratory and field settings. Our activities included the cultivation and monitoring of various macroalgae species and the study of their life cycles.

All of these experiences have collectively contributed to the development of our expertise in the field of marine biotechnology, macroalgae cultivation, and scientific research

IG.07.3.001.a – STAR Multimetric Index ICMi

We conduct a comprehensive and integrated analysis of the water resource, evaluating biological, chemical-physical, morphological, and hydrological aspects. We utilize the STAR Multimetric Index ICMi for intercalibration to ensure accurate assessment. Our range of services
includes:

– Identification of the point via GPS.
– Sample collection.
– Laboratory analysis compliant with current regulations.
– Processing of output data and uploading to the Geographic Information System (GIS).

All parameters are measured in accordance with current reference standards.

IG.07.3.001.b – LIMeco Index

We offer a detailed analysis of the quality of river water resources by calculating the Pollution Level from Macro-descriptors for Ecological State (LIMeco). Our services include:

– Water analysis for analytes N-NH4, N-NO3, P tot.
– In-house analysis of collected data.
– Data processing.
– LIMeco index calculation.
– Production of certificate and data uploading to GIS.

IG.07.3.001.c – Index Biologique Macrophytique en Rivière (IBMR)

We provide a qualitative characterization of river water resources through the Index Biologique Macrophytique en Rivière (IBMR), with a focus on biological quality aspects. Our services include:

– Identification of measurement point via GPS.
– Sample collection.
– Laboratory analysis.
– Processing of output data and uploading to GIS.

PA.AM.041 – Biological Quality Analysis through Diatoms

We implement advanced measures with the IBE method for biological quality analysis, focusing on diatom determination. Additionally, we calculate ICMi with Omnidia and implement a set of 10 additional diatom indices for a more in-depth evaluation.

These services are designed to provide a comprehensive overview of water resource health, supporting environmental management and enabling informed decisions for the conservation and improvement of the river ecosystem.
